Role: Level 2 IT Support Technician

Job description
We’ve been providing IT support services for small to medium-sized businesses on Eastern Long Island for over 20 years. We’re looking for an experienced individual to join our team of 10. The primary role of this position will have the responsibility for both on-site and remote client support, including heavy interaction with end-users in diverse network environments.

A majority of your time will be spent in the office handling service tickets and proactive maintenance tasks. The candidate’s customer service ability is just as important as their technical ability in this role as you’ll be communicating with customers via phone, email and in person.

  • At least 2+ years of experience in an MSP setting
  • Excellent problem solver with proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Monitor and work with various systems management tools
  • In depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365, Domain Environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, and Permissions Management), Remote Desktop Services, Windows Server, Hyper-V
  • Ability to design, configure, install, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including servers (cloud and local), firewalls, switches, routers, network racks and workstations
  • Ability to work alone and in team settings
  • Create and update documentation of existing or future customer environments
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks, prioritize effectively and ensure complete resolution
  • Quickly assess an issue and form an understanding of the root cause in unfamiliar technical environments and technologies
  • Identify and drive opportunities to automate repeatable networking tasks including through the creation and maintenance of scripts and tools
